“I will do that later” . . . “I will start that next week” . . . “I’ve got plenty of time.” Ever uttered those statements?
Time is something we frequently presume to have at our disposal but truly have no ultimate control over.
We have plans. We have goals. We even have the cute daytimer to prove it. But we do not execute. The unfortunate result?
Our best intentions are left undone, and we have missed opportunities to make the most use of our time for God. Time simply does not wait.
In Psalm 39: 4-5, David desperately wanted answers and had already come to the realization that life is transient; consequently, he needed to live it with eternity in mind.
Life-changing realization. What’s good for David is good for us! With eternity in mind. Now that thought will definitely shape the way we tackle our days, right?
In the bustle of daily life, we – like David – need to pause and reflect upon living our lives with eternity in mind, living intentionally.
Today is the perfect time for us to take a step back, evaluate how we use our time, and determine to put God first in our lives, wholeheartedly pursing His plan for our lives.
Out with the “I will do that later” and in with the purposeful pursuit of what God would have us do.
Living with eternity in mind – no better way to live!
